Chardham Yatra by Helicopter

This 6-day / 5-night luxury heli-tour begins and ends in Dehradun, covering the four sacred shrines of Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath via helicopter. It includes stays in premium hotels, vegetarian/Jain meals, VIP darshans, local sightseeing, airport/hotel transfers, and optional pujas. The itinerary is designed for comfort and convenience in the high Himalayas during May–June or September–October.

Itinerary

Day 1
Dehradun

Dehradun is our main base for the Heli-tours. It is the starting & ending point.

  • Exceptional Escapes provides a complimentary stay on the date of arrival, but no meals are included – which can be included at an additional cost.
  • Passengers are picked up from Dehradun Airport/railway station/bus stand. Please note, arrival details must be provided to Exceptional Escapes at the time of booking.
  • Passengers should try to reach Dehradun by 02:00 pm, or earlier, so that they are completely ready to start their Chardham journey the next day early morning.
  • In the evening, our team will be doing the tour briefing to the passengers, & provide them duffel bags for carrying only necessary things on the trip – Up to 5 kg/person will be permitted.
Day 2
Yamunotri Dham

Sahastradhara to Yamunotri

0500 Hrs Check out from Dehradun hotel
0600 Hrs ETD from Sahastradhara Helidrome
0630 Hrs ETA at Kharsali Heli-Base
  • This is starting day of the Chardham yatra. Passengers will check-out early morning from the hotel at 05:00 am. They will be picked up from the Hotel by our staff, & taken to Sahastradhara Helidrome.
  • Himlayan Heli has its own Heli-base in Kharsali, where our ground staff would welcome the passengers. The staff will then get the passengers settled in the hotel, which is within walking distance of the helipad.
  • After breakfast, passengers will be taken to Yamunotri Darshan.
  • Approximate time is taken for Yamunotri Temple Darshan: Approximately 05hrs 30mins (round-trip). Yamunotri trek is 06 km one-way.
  • Sightseeing at Kharsali: Hot Spring at Yamunotri Temple, Yamuna Mata Temple, Shani Temple.
Day 3
Gangotri Dham

Yamunotri to Gangotri

0630 Hrs ETD from Kharsali Heli-Base
0700 Hrs ETA at Harsil/Jhalla Helipad
  • Passengers will check-out by 0530 hrs. Departure from Kharsali will be at 0630 hrs, & the estimated time of arrival at Harsil/Jhalla will be 0700 hrs.
  • Jhalla – Exceptional Escapes’s second own Heli-base in the Chardham sector. After landing at Jhalla, passengers will be taken to Harsil village & checked-in the hotel.
  • Harsil – The second destination of our tour, also known for the extensive apple orchards there, is the most scenic and beautiful destination of this tour.
  • Passengers will be taken for Gangotri Dham darshan after breakfast.
  • Approximate Time taken for Gangotri Temple Darshan: 3hrs 30 mins (round-trip). The road distance to Gangotri temple is approx. 25 km, which is roughly a 50-minute drive.
  • Sightseeing at Harsil: Harsil has many places & nature walks around to explore. Passengers will be taken to explore any of the following:
  • Bagodi Village walk / Short trek to Chholmi village / Nature walk from Jhalla / Shiv Temple in Harsil.
Day 4
Kedarnath Dham

Gangotri to Sersi

0700 Hrs ETD from Harsil/Jhalla Helipad
0730 Hrs ETA at Sersi Heli-Base
  • Passengers will be checked-out by 0600 hrs. Arrival at Sersi will be by 0730 hrs.
  • Sersi – Exceptional Escapes’s third, and the oldest, own Heli-base in the Chardham sector. We operate the shuttle services for Kedarnath ji shrine from here.
  • Passengers will be ferried to Kedarnath Dham for darshan in a shuttle services flight, after their breakfast.
  • Approximate time taken for Kedarnath Temple Darshan: 02 hours.
  • The shuttle services flight Sersi to Kedarnath is apporx. 07 minutes long.
  • Sightseeing at Sersi: Triyuginarayan Temple – It is the venue of the celestial marriage of Lord Shiva & Goddess Parvati, or Gaurikund.
Day 5
Badrinath Dham

Sersi to Badrinath

0800 Hrs ETD from Sersi Heli-Base
0830 Hrs ETA at Badrinath Helipad
  • Passengers will have breakfast by 0700 hrs at Sersi & be ready for their flight to Badrinath by 0800 hrs.
  • Passengers will be taken for darshan to Badrinath temple in the afternoon after lunch.
  • Approximate time is taken for Badrinath Temple Darshan: Approx. 01-1.5 Hrs is taken to have darshan at the Badrinath Temple. Passengers will be taken from Hotel to the temple by car.
  • Sightseeing at Badrinath: Mana Village – Known as the ‘Last village of India’, due to its proximity to the China border.
  • Evening Aarti at Badrinath Temple – Swaran/Chandi Aarti (on additional payment basis directly at Badrinath).
Day 6
Dehradun

Badrinath to Sahastradhara

0830 Hrs ETD from Badrinath Helipad
0930 Hrs ETA at Sahastradhara Helidrome
  • Passengers who have pre-booked Maha Abhishek Puja, have to be ready early morning by 0330 hrs. Puja shall take place from 0430 hrs to 0630 hrs.
  • Badrinath ji hotel check-out time is 0730 hrs.
  • Estimated time of arrival will be 0930 hrs at Sahastradhara. On arrival, our team will be present to receive the passengers. Later, they will be taken to Dehradun hotel to collect the luggage from cloak rooms, and then be dropped to airport/railway station.
  • In case passengers would like to spend an additional night at Dehradun, accommodation can be arranged by Exceptional Escapes at an additional cost. The same must be informed to us at the time of booking.
  • After the final transfer, we will bid farewell to the passengers.

Add-on Services

  • Maha Abhishek Puja at Badrinath ji – INR 4,300/ Per Person.

Total amount has to be paid in cash to HHSPL representative at Dehradun, so that we can arrange and book the Puja in advance on behalf of each passenger.
Note – Maha Abhishek Puja will not be included in our package or billing cost, since the total amount for the same goes directly to Badrinath ji Mandir Samiti.

  • Rudra Abhishek Puja at Kedarnath ji – INR 6,500 for 05 people.

Total amount has to be paid in cash to HHSPL representative at Dehradun, so that we can arrange and book the Puja in advance on behalf of each passenger.
Arrangement of Rudra Abhishek puja will be done subject to the availability of rooms at Kedarnath-Top, as passengers will have to stay there overnight for the puja. Therefore, the additional charges towards the hotel stay will be extra chargeable.
Note – Rudra Abhishek Puja will not be included in our package or billing cost, since the total amount for the same goes directly to Kedarnath ji Mandir Samiti.

Disclaimer – Accommodation at Kedarnath-top is budget category, and there can be instances of complaints in regards to the hotel services & rooms. Furthermore, temperature at Kedarnath-top may drop to sub-zero levels at night in Sep/Oct, therefore passengers are advised to take decision keeping the same in consideration.

  • Booking of Scheduled/Non-Scheduled Flights or Train Tickets: Price on demand.

While our team takes care of your entire Chardham tour, they can also assist you in booking of air/train tickets to Dehradun.

  • Extra Night Stay at Dehradun: Price on demand.
